Daiko was established in 1943 as a trading company
specializing in fragrances.
Since then, Daiko has, on one side, devoted itself to
importing and delivering raw materials for incense and
joss sticks including world famous brands, such as
Seiun and Mainichi-koh that Nippon Kodo manufactures. On the other side, Daiko has introduced them to the world as our central role of business. Another role of our business is to deal in fragrance products and miscellaneous goods associated with fragrance. Now that we have much more connections with the world, we are concentrating more on promoting our own brands.

It is said that the culture of fragrance has been recognized for over 4,000 years, originally and mainly in India, China and Southeast Asia where aromatic woods were abundantly found. We believe that the fragrance, for certain reason, exists with human being as our society has been gradually formed in the long history.

Today, the culture of fragrance has two aspects. One of which is connected to Buddhist service. The other is to support one’s life to be peaceful and enjoyable.

In developed nations of the 21st century, great affluence of materials is more highlighted than that of spiritual and we realize that our life faces a huge gap between those two.

When people seek ‘balanced’ affluence, the culture of fragrance that Japan has long cherished for over 1,000 years embraces much deeper meaning and will definitely be adopted in people’s life all over the world.

Daiko’s mission statement is “Setting fragrance as our core, we will contribute to making life filled with spiritual happiness.” All of our staff share this mission and work together as a whole with our corporate brand “WAKU-WAKU”-the feeling when you are waiting and expecting something happy-, hoping the items we deliver will make our customers feel “WAKU-WAKU”, too.

Our goal is to contribute to the society through introducing products that fulfill people’s mind. We will continuously strive to accomplish the goal.
